Hi there! I’m Lina Oasis, the creator, photographer, and recipe developer behind BiteOasis.com- a flavorful corner of the internet where everyday cooking feels refreshing, vibrant, and full of heart. My mission is simple: to help home cooks rediscover the joy of cooking- one delicious bite at a time.

Since launching Bite Oasis in 2018, I’ve been sharing approachable recipes that celebrate balance- dishes that are both comforting and nourishing, indulgent yet wholesome. Think golden sheet-pan dinners, creamy soups, luscious desserts, and a sprinkle of Mediterranean flair (because, let’s be honest, I can’t resist olive oil and fresh herbs).

My Culinary Roots

My passion for food runs deep. I grew up in a family where meals were more than just sustenance — they were love letters served on a plate. My earliest memories are of my grandmother kneading dough for fresh bread and my mother tossing salads that shimmered with olive oil and lemon juice. Those flavors shaped my understanding of what food should be: real, joyful, and shared.

When I moved to the U.S., cooking became my comfort zone — a way to stay connected to my heritage and to create something beautiful from simple ingredients. I started experimenting, tweaking family classics, and exploring cuisines from around the world. The more I cooked, the more I realized: food was my language, my therapy, and my calling.

How Bite Oasis Was Born

The idea for Bite Oasis began in a tiny kitchen with a camera balanced on a stack of books. At the time, I was juggling a full-time job in marketing and spending my nights testing recipes for friends and family. I wanted to create a space where cooking felt doable and inspiring, even for busy people like me.

In 2018, I hit “publish” on my first post — and I haven’t stopped since. What started as a passion project quickly blossomed into a full-time creative journey. Today, Bite Oasis is home to hundreds of recipes, each developed, styled, and photographed by me (and taste-tested by my endlessly patient family).

My Life Outside the Kitchen

When I’m not stirring, sautéing, or styling food, you’ll find me behind a camera lens, walking through local farmers’ markets, or sipping iced coffee while brainstorming my next recipe series.
I live with my husband, our two kids, and a very curious golden retriever who believes every photo shoot is secretly about him.

We make our home in Oregon, surrounded by forest trails and cozy coffee shops that spark creativity. Cooking here feels like breathing — simple, slow, and deeply fulfilling.

My Professional Path

Before I became a full-time food blogger, I spent nearly a decade in digital marketing and product photography, which taught me everything about storytelling, branding, and the magic of light. But deep down, I always knew I wanted to build something that blended my creative eye with my love for food.

In 2017, I began taking food photography seriously, studying composition and natural light, and soon brands began reaching out. That experience shaped how I approach every recipe on Bite Oasis — from concept to final image — with care, precision, and authenticity.

I test every recipe multiple times (yes, even the simple ones), because I believe your time, trust, and groceries are precious.
